Unique Beer #247 – Goose Island Pere Jacques (2012)

If I had to pick one style of beer to drink for the rest of my life, it would be Belgian style. If I had to pick only one line of beers within that style, it would be Goose Island’s line of Belgian styles. I only recently learned these can be aged, and I’ve found Matilda in particular to age beautifully. This definitely tastes like it has some age on it, but for two years, it’s not as much as I would expect. Ben does have the 2011, 2012 and 2013 of this. I have the same years of Pepe Nero. Yes, we plan on doing vertical tastings of these at some point.

Fun fact: Ben is obsessed with me trying his cheeses.

Oh hey! Didn’t notice until now, there are floaties in this! Or—if you will—flocculation. Most people would find that disgusting. I find it neat. This is definitely one where I like the smell a bit more than the taste. Although no time to pick out smells, Ben’s about the open the next beer 😛

Take your time, but hurry up about it!
